About This Card
Dark brown "wood" and creme Cover. 3-color model. Ann Richards Congress Avenue Bridge, located in the heart of downtown Austin, hosts the largest urban bat colony in the world, estimated at 1.5 million bats.
It is a maternity colony, and mother Mexican free-tailed bats raise an estimated 750,000 pups each year under the bridge. Every day at dusk, tourists from all over the globe come to the bridge to watch the swarms of bats rise above the bridge to go feed.
The model captures 50 people to scale on the bridge watching the bats (cut-outs). A true finely detailed masterpiece of Kirigami art showcasing architecture and tourism.
